Company Profile
1869
Founded in 1878 Echi Sake Brewery was founded in 1877 in Echi-gun, Shiga Prefecture. It is said that the company was founded in the second year of the Meiji era, although there are documents that show that it has been selling sake since the end of the Edo period. Initially, we handled four brands (Tomitsuru, Daifukucho, Nishi no Homare, and Kokonoe no Hana), but in the early Showa period we changed to only Tomitsuru. I heard that this was done in gratitude for the great contributions made by my great-grandmother Tomi.

2023
Sake that you can feel with your heartFrom this year, I decided to focus on raw sake. In sake brewing, the raw materials, environment, and workers are kept in the best conditions every day, so that the rice, yeast, and koji are well-balanced, and the taste, aroma, and alcohol content are optimal. Normally, the taste is gradually improved over 3 to 6 years by further heating and maturing, but from this year, we will also offer freshly squeezed. We will continue to offer sake that feels more heartfelt.
